Quick guide

Four steps

01

Load the roll

Open the dispenser with the quick male-female latch (less than 1 kg of force is enough, it works even with gloves on). Choose the right adapter for the material you want to use — Ø24 mm for fiberglass veil, Ø49.5 mm for micro-perforated paper, Ø65 mm for reinforcement mesh — slide it onto the axle and place the roll. Close the cover: the hexagonal pin enters its seat and locks the rotation of the cover itself. Ready.

02

Feed the tape

Pass the leading edge of the tape through the exit slot. Tensioning is passive, generated by friction between the roll and the inner walls of the dispenser: no active mechanisms to adjust, no springs that wear out over time. Pull out the amount of tape you need.

03

Apply to the joint

With one hand, press the tape onto the drywall joint or the area to be reinforced. The ergonomic shape of the VELOBOX body lets you work on ladders, scaffolding, ceilings and tight corners without straining your wrist. The integrated belt hook frees up both hands when you are not using it.

04

Cut and finish

When you finish applying, cut the tape against the integrated plastic cutting blade. It is a single-piece plastic part made from the same mould as the body — it cuts fiberglass veil, micro-perforated paper and mesh cleanly, yet it is safe for the skin (no risk of accidental cuts as with metal blades).

Fiber mesh for structural reinforcement, repairs, reinforced renders and areas prone to micro-cracking.

Common issues

Quick fixes

The tape jams

Open the dispenser and check that the roll is on the right adapter for its inner diameter. An adapter that is too small leaves play and the roll wobbles; one that is too large causes excessive friction.

The cover does not close properly

Check that the hexagonal pin of the cover is aligned with the hexagonal seat of the axle. The geometry is asymmetric to ensure anti-rotation: if you force it in the wrong position it will not close.

The blade does not cut well

Clean the blade of plaster residue or dust — friction is needed for a clean cut. If the roll is particularly old or damp, the fiberglass veil may tear instead of cutting: in that case it is best to replace the roll.

The dispenser got dirty with plaster

Clean it with a damp cloth. The hexagonal star shape and the essentially closed housing protect the roll from most site debris, but if the outer finish gets dirty you can wash it. Avoid aggressive solvents that can dull the plastic.

Care and maintenance

VELOBOX is built to last. The ABS or polypropylene body withstands the typical knocks of a job site and has no metal parts to rust. To keep it in shape:

  • Clean it with a damp cloth at the end of the working day.
  • Store it with a roll inside to keep its shape — the dispenser is meant to be used, not left empty.
  • If the cutting blade wears out after a long life, contact us for cover replacement.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures (below -20°C or above +60°C) so the plastic does not deform.
