Cookie Policy
Last updated: 22 June 2026
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that the websites you visit save on your device to remember information (preferences, sessions, statistics). There are "technical" cookies (essential to operation) and "non-technical" cookies (analytics, marketing) that require your consent.
2. How to manage your preferences
On your first visit to the website you are shown a cookie banner with 3 options:
- Accept all: enables all cookies including analytics and marketing.
- Essential only: only technical cookies, no analytics or marketing.
- Customise: choose by category.
Your choice is saved in your browser (localStorage key vb_consent_v1) and
respected on subsequent visits. You can change it at any time by clicking the
"Manage cookies" link in the footer, or by clearing the site's data from your browser.
3. Cookies currently in use
3.1 Technical / essential cookies (always active)
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
vb_consent_v1 | velobox.it | Stores the user's cookie choice | 1 year (localStorage) |
cf_clearance, __cf_bm | Cloudflare | Anti-bot and DDoS protection | 30 minutes / 1 year |
| Temporary Turnstile tokens | Cloudflare | Anti-spam verification on the forms | Session |
3.2 Analytics cookies (require consent)
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics 4 | Anonymised unique user identifier | 2 years |
_ga_F5WBTVPMTZ | Google Analytics 4 | GA4 session state | 2 years |
The data collected by Google Analytics is in aggregate form and with anonymised IP. It is used to understand how users use the website (most viewed pages, devices, geographic origin of traffic).
3.3 Advertising and marketing features (require consent)
Google Analytics 4 has the "Google Signals" advertising features enabled, which operate only if you grant "marketing" consent from the cookie banner. When active, Google may associate visits with your Google account (if you are signed in and have enabled Ads Personalisation) to provide us, in aggregate form, with:
- cross-device reports (recognising the same user across multiple devices);
- demographic and interest data (age brackets, gender, interests);
- creation of remarketing lists that can be exported to Google Ads.
For these purposes Google may use its own advertising cookies (e.g. on the
google.com / doubleclick.net domains). If in the future we run
campaigns on Google Ads or Meta (Facebook/Instagram), additional cookies/pixels may be
installed (e.g. _gcl_au) and this page will be updated. Without
"marketing" consent none of these features is active.
4. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are installed by third-party services integrated into the website. For each, we refer you to the respective privacy policy:
- Google Analytics: policies.google.com/privacy
- Cloudflare: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
5. Disabling cookies from the browser
In addition to the cookie banner, you can disable and delete cookies directly from your browser settings. Instructions for the most common browsers:
6. Updates
This Cookie Policy may be updated in the event of new cookies installed or regulatory changes. The date of the last update is shown at the top.
